WESTON Raddys went on the road to Chard in the Somerset Darts Super League looking to continue their good form. The hosts began well, taking the first two rubbers, but Raddys came back via Daz Paul who won comfortably 3-0, and Bob Hadley 3-1, notching an excellent 24.74 average. The next four games were also shared victors for Raddys were Paul Davis 3-2 and Steve Thirkettle 3-0 averaging a respectable 21.78. The match remained in the balance when the last four singles were also shared. Marcus Grose 3-1 and Dave Sheppard 3-1 ensured the tie was level at 6-6 with the pairs remaining. But as so often in the past Raddys pulled away from their opponents in a ruthless fashion winning five of the six pairs. Winners were John Anderson and Paul Davis 3-1; Bob Hadley and Mike Cannon 3-1; Mike Harding and Dave Sheppard 3-3; Lenny Howe and Chris Thomas 3-0; and Dave Evans, who threw the winning dart, with Steve Thirkettle 3-0. Unfortunately due to marking difficulties at the home venue, it was difficult to pin-point a man of the match but suffice to say Bob Hadley played well. Captain Ron Trow was happy with the team performance but admitted it was not a vintage one.
