Weston AFC have been drawn to play Barnet in the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup at The Hive Stadium.
It is the second time in three seasons the Seagulls have reached this stage of the competition, after beating Helston Athletic 7-2 on Saturday
Reuben Reid’s first ever hat-trick for Weston, Marlon Jackson’s double and further goals from and Jordan Bastin and substitute Elis Watts secured the win.
Scott Bartlett’s side are aiming to reach the main draw for the third time in eight years, having last reached the first round in the 2018-19 season, where they lost 2-0 to Wrexham.
The draw was made on TalkSport Two and Bartlett said he is excited for the clash.
“It’s an exciting draw for us,” he told Weston Mercury Sport.
“I know Barnet well, I’ve come up against them many times whilst at Forest Green Rovers and it’s a good opportunity to see how we fare against a big National Leage club.
“Obviously everyone wants a home draw but we travel well and are looking forward to it.
“Together with our supporters, We have earned the right to go head to head with them and whilst we have other games to concentrate on before that, we are very much looking forward to it.”
There is £9,375 at stake in prize money for the winner, with £3,125 for the losing side.
The tie will be played on Saturday October 15 and if level after 90 minutes the match will go to a replay.
Weston’s Southern Premier South encounter at Metropolitan Police will have to be rearranged.
