Weston men fell to a 3-1 defeat against Old Bristolians seconds in their Concorde 1 season opener on Saturday.

The likes of Alex Thorne, and Oliver Standeven, supported by Alex Leeks, Jack Pitt, Cameron Slater and Nick Bily, helped Weston score early goal sought by an advantage which Fin Baker capitalised a volley into the OBs net.

Multiple chances by Old Birstolians were crushed by defence of Mount, CJ Neate, Jacob Dale, James Leeks, and goalkeeper Tom Fox who kept various waves of scoring opportunities to a minimum

Unfortunately a lapse of formation saw the midfield opened up left Weston carved open for Dan Griffin to score the equaliser.

Sam Neate talk altered their our formation, and utilising subs Matt Kearsey, Kevin Collins and Will Mudie to keep legs fresh.

Scrappy play due to tiredness resulting in multiple cards being shown from late tackles and breakdown of play as Griffin helped himself to two more goals to complete his hat-trick.

Weston return to action this Saturday against Bath Buccaneers at 1:30pm at Priory School.
