Andy Richings claimed victory in the Fifth Round of the Commercial House League on the Bristol Avon at Newbridge recently.

The river started quite clear but coloured up a little bit after the heavy overnight rain.

Richings, fishing for Mosella Bathampton, collected 81lbs 9ozs from peg 48 and caught around 20 bream and skimmers on a variety of hook baits.

In second was Andy Pritchard, who was also fishing for Mosella Bathampton, after he finished with 33lbs 4ozs on peg 40 after catching 2-3lbs on the crowquill in the first hour and with worm on the hook he caught nine bream.

Ivan Currie, of Sensas Nomads, claimed third on peg 59 after collecting 31lbs 1ozs. He fished the pole for the first two hours catching 13lbs of roach, hybrids and perch. He then tried the feeder and had two bream quickly on double worm and caught two more bream at the end of the match. 

Mosella Bathampton had a good day, dropping only two points on the day and taking the lead overall in the league with 107 points. M & N Electrica finished in second to move up to second in the league, seven points behind the leaders with Sensas Nomads one point behind in third.
