Despite picking up two wins and one drawn rink Clarence Blues were beaten 109-94 to Burnham recently.

The Rink of the Day went to Mike Fry and Ken Marshall, skipped by Mick Edlin. The trio took a firm grip from the start and were eight up after six ends, Edlin`s team kept the pressure on and after 12-ends were 18-up.

Burnham settled down taking three of the final six ends, too little too late with Edlin`s team winning by 19-shots. A quick mention must go to Jon Loveridge and Mike Samways, alongside skip Nigel Martin, who, on the last end, overturned a three-shot deficit to earn a draw.

J Loveridge, M Samways, N Martin 16-16; M Fry, K Marshall, M Edlin 31-12; T Mannion, D Simms, P Williams 16-13; M Harryman, B Coleman, G Leigh 11-20; T Derrick, A Gordon, D Weston 8-22; P Franklin. Ferdy, A Cord 12-26.

Despite losing on four rinks and drawing on another Clarence Blues pulled this out of the bag with a single winning rink taking the match 86-85 against local rivals Yatton.

Mike Fry and Bob Coleman, with Gordon Leigh as skip, took the match by storm and Leigh`s team were 12-up after seven ends with no reply, nip and tuck for the rest of the match with the Blues running out victors by 14-shots.
