Congresbury captain Justin Yau said his side "need to ensure" they do what they can to try and get "positive results" from their last two games of the season.

Congresbury currently lead WEPL Bristol & North Somerset with two games left this campaign.

Congresbury welcome Frenchay to the King George V Playing Field this Saturday before travelling to Bedminster seconds the following weekend.

And Yau said their approach to both matches will no different and is aware of the dangers Frenchay have following their hard fought one-run win in June.

He says: “Same as we always do which is to go into the games looking to win. We are in a position where it’s in our own hands and we must remember that.

“We have two cup finals to play, and we need to ensure we do what we can to try and get positive results.

“Frenchay are a dangerous side with some match winners. They will not be underestimated in any way, and they should have beaten us at their place.

We lost five wickets in five balls there as well as winning by just one run. We got out of jail there and they are scrapping for their lives, so it is important we put in a big performance.”

Yau hailed his side’s display to return to winning ways last time out at Winterborne.

Congresbury were beaten by 100 runs against Brislington in what their second defeat of the season.

But a much-improved display over Winterborne saw Congresbury dig deep to win by 39 runs.

“The Winterbourne result was fantastic, particularly when it looked like the game was getting away from us,” Yau added.

“I loved the character the boys showed to turn that game around when the going for tough.”

Despite holding the lead at top of the table, Yau said it would mean a lot for his side if they went up, but they would need to “strengthen” and that there are “many twists and turns” yet to come and they are not taking anything for granted.

“I think promotion would mean a great deal for a small village club like ours,” he said.

“It would be a monumental effort and an exceptional achievement. However, regardless of what happens from here on in, I’m so proud of the lads who have got us into this position.”
