Clarence A inflicted a heavy 84-34 defeat on local rivals Burnham in their Somerset County League match last Saturday.

The highest winning rink went to Jon Loveridge, Pete Williams and Nigel Martin skipped by Bob Sweet taking a 27-shot win.

Mick Edlin’s had the last wood of the match, and although they were losing on their rink this wood was crucial as the scores were drawn, Edlin bowled a drawing shot, it nestled up to the Jack and with it the match.

Clarence’s only winning rink came from Mike Fry, Mike Samways and Pete Williams alongside skip Gordon Leigh by a margin of 19-shots.

Clarence Blues soundly beaten in their latest over-55s League match, with just two winning rinks and four points leaving them on the edge of relegation.
