Lympsham & Belvedere recorded their third successive win after beating Trull by 65 runs in the Somerset Premier last Saturday.

Lympsham & Belvedere were asked to bat first by the visitors. Things could not have got off to a worst start for the homes side as they lost George Nuttycombe for 0 to the bowling of Craig Lawton.

Lawton then got another as he removed Tom Gooding also for 0. Nathan Hancock joined Jack Luff at the crease and hit the first boundary of the day before being adjudged LBW for four by Joe Hale and leaving the home side 8-3.

Mike Hosey steadied the ship along with Luff as the pair managed to put on 53 before Hosey fell for 11.

Luff continued to score runs at a steady pace whilst wickets fell around him as Dan Reason came in and fell without scoring after being bowled by Brian Stone.

Matt Grute joined Luff and the pair built a good partnership scoring multiple boundaries before Grute fell for 25.

Callum Neate walked out and joined Luff briefly before Luff finally fell for an excellently made 50, including five fours and two sixes, leaving Lympsham & Belvedere on 109-7.

Matt Davis then fell the very next ball to Louis Trotman and Neate was removed LBW by Mark Thomas on the first ball of the next over to give the away side three wickets in three balls.

Sam McCrea and Neil Chadwick were the last men in for the home side and were able to add 14 runs before McCrea was caught at long on for four leaving Chadwick 10 not out at the other end with the home side bowled out for 123.

In reply Lympsham & Belvedere knew they had to take early wickets to stay in the game defending a low score and they got their wish as Captain Neate (1-23) removed Elliott Trotman after four balls being well held by Luff.

Mike Hosey opening the bowling from the other end immediately joined in the action as he had Graham Bishop trapped LBW for two.

Hosey continued his fine spell of bowling having Louis Trotman caught by Nuttycombe at point for 14. Chadwick replaced Neate and quickly joined the action as he bowled Stone for 0, and then trapped Ford LBW for four.

Hosey then resumed his wicket taking as he had Danny Parsons for 0 being caught behind for 0 and then Lawton also for 0 held by Nuttycombe again to leave Trull struggling at 39-7.

Hosey then finished his spell by taking his fifth wicket of the match by removing the dangerous Clark for 13 and leaving Hosey with final figures of 9-2-20-5.

Gooding then ran out Thomas with a gentle throw for Grute to remove the bails leaving Trull 53-9. McCrea (0-5) replaced Hosey for one very bowled over before Chadwick (6.1-2-9-3) wrapped the innings by bowling Joe Hale with the home side taking 10 wickets for 58 runs in 20.1 overs.

Lympsham & Belvedere travel to Shapwick & Polden this Saturday looking to continue the winning run to end the season.
