TWO pieces of silverware were on offer on Sunday as the members contested the October Medal at Brean Golf Club.

The Fred Baker Shield is awarded to the leading score in Divisions One and Two and this went to Carl Ashley for his superb nett 65 in tough conditions for scoring.

This brought him a three stroke victory over Nathan Pickering in the Second Division with Rob Perry placed third. Pete Barton was the best return in the top flight ahead of Scott Miles and Charlie Huggins in second and third.

The Stanley Trophy was on offer for the leading score in the Third Division and this went to Tim Amy who concluded a solid weekend's golf with victory courtesy of his nett 74.

He was one clear of runner up Andrew Jones with Ian Adams 3 strokes further back in third.

Adam Thompson was the only player to score in excess of 40 points in Saturday's final Super Series round of the season.

He scored 41 stableford points in the Second Division to finish the day 5 clear of Seniors Captain Elect Tim Amy. Amy in turn was two ahead of third placed finisher Jon Scorrer.

In the opening round of the Seniors Eclectic event it was Chris Fairchild who showed the rest a clean pair of heels as he raced to victory.

He scored the only sub par round of the day with his superb nett 65 giving him a 5 stroke cushion over Sid Smith and Pete Dunn in the multi round event which continues over the next couple of months
