Captain Jack Pitt says Weston Hockey Club will pick their “work rate” up for their match with Robinsons Fifths in Concorde Division One this Saturday.

Weston welcome Clifton Robinsons Fifths to the Priory School at 1:30pm looking to return to winning ways after their first defeat of the campaign to South Gloucestershire last time out.

“Robinsons Fifths have had a good unbeaten start to the season and playing them last season we know they are a tough and experienced team so will have to pick our work rate back up,” Pitt said.

“We have a large availability this weekend so will need to disappoint some players, so performance in training will be key for selection this week.

“We will definitely have a home advantage, as we know how to play the pitch well and to our ability so we are hoping for a good game and the result to go in our favour.”

Pitt felt their performances from their first three games “have been good” but will says they can do “even better.”

“If we can continue to do well this side of Christmas, then we will be in for a good second half of the season,” he added.

“It’s just about being consistent and every single player taking responsibility of their performance.”
