Hornets Director of Rugby Jon Richardson says his side “simply have to back up the way” they played at Hinckley with another equally impressive display against Dudley Kingswinford in the National 2 West this Saturday.

Hornets ended their run of five consecutive defeats with a “really pleasing performance” in their 17-17 draw at Leicester Road.

And Richardson said they are “massively” looking forward to the game with last year’s Regional 1 Midlands champions and it will be another chance to build on last weekend’s display at the Nest.

“We simply have to back up the way we played at Hinckley,” he said.

“We’ve feel we’ve made some good progress in our defensive efforts but didn’t get our attack going so well last week.

“We’re looking to put both facets together this week and that should mean a strong performance.”

Richardson said the game will be the first time the two teams have played against each other and will be an “exciting first” for his side.

“We are very much excited to experience new challenges,” he added.

“We feel the group is really galvanizing at the moment so we’re definitely looking forward to rest of season.”
