Wrington Redhill bowed out of the Somerset Senior Cup after a 5-1 defeat at Clutton in the third round last Saturday.
The first goal for the Swans came against the run of play when a cross eluded the grasp of debutant goalkeeper Regan D’Arcy and was stabbed into the net for a 1-0 lead.
A second soon followed with an unbelievable strike from 30-yards-out which flew in off the crossbar and somehow the visitors had contrived to find themselves 2-0 down at half-time.
The Redskins made some substitutions to fresh things up and it was Jake Harris who made his mark with a goal.
The comeback proved short lived, however, with defensive frailties again letting them down. Player/manager Leigh White allowed Clutton to score number three when a corner into the box which was punished with a tap in.
It got worse when Ethan Johnson sliced into his own net and before Redhill conceded another when four defenders failed to move to clear a corner with the ball bundled over the line to see the game end with defeat and exit from the cup.
The scorers for Clutton were Jake Canning, Saul Gibbs, Jake Hawkins, Alex Price and Taylor Southcott.
Redhill return to action this Saturday against Clevedon United at the Recreation Ground.
