Weston-super-Mare Hockey Club's men captain Jack Pitt said it was great to see his side "dismantle" Bath Buccaneers sixes as they returned to winning ways in Concorde 1 with a 6-0 win at Priory School last Saturday.

The home side started strongly, and a short corner was finished home by Pitt, after James Moseley found him in space in the D before Cam Slater calmly slotted home.

Weston then found a third through Moseley after Chris Penney found him in acres of space.

With half-time approaching Weston made it four after Pitt finished home with a flick from the top of the D following a short corner.

The hosts found their fifth through Alex Leeks at the back post before Penney finished off the scoring as he danced his way through the opposition to smash the ball into the goal to end successive defeats.

“It was fantastic to see the boys in high spirits throughout the game after what has been a tough couple of weeks, I’ve had a few conversations this week highlighting the importance of coming into this with some excitement," Pitt said.

"Bath are always a tricky side to face, they are often experienced and will make us do the hard work, so it was great to see our boys dismantle them from the outset."
