Weston-super-Mare AFC manager Scott Bartlett said it would be “great” to have a run in the FA Trophy.
The Seagulls welcome Cray Wanderers to The Optima Stadium in the second round this Saturday at 3pm.
It will be Weston’s first game since beating Hengrove Athletic 9-0 in the Somerset Premier Cup a week Tuesday ago after their National League South matches with Worthing and Chipping Town were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
And Bartlett says they are upbeat about taking on the Wands.
“We are looking forward to it, the postponements are frustrating, but we have trained well,” he said.
“Cray are a good side; we have watched them, and Scott (Rogers) and I have seen their last two games.
“Putting the Somerset Cup win (against Hengrove Athletic) to one side we are playing well but haven’t picked up enough points in the last four games, so the next game is important.
“A Cup run would be great, and we will be full strength and I’ll pick the best team we have available.”
