Weston-super-Mare AFC have announced the return of goalkeeper Max Harris on loan from Cheltenham Town until the end of the season.

Harris originally joined in October 2021 and played a big role in helping the Seagulls reach the Southern League Premier South play-offs.

He then re-joined at the start of the 2022-2023 campaign and spent the first half of the season in BS24 before he was recalled by the Robins and loaned out to Bath City.

Across his two spells with the club Harris picked up 23 clean sheets in 57 games.

Harris will go straight into the squad to take on Welling United at The Optima Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm.

"I’m delighted to be back at Weston-super-Mare AFC and looking forward to getting back to playing games and hopefully helping the team climb up the table," Harris told the club's website.

“It’s great to be back with the lads again and can’t thank the gaffer enough for bringing me in. I can’t wait to see a few familiar faces tomorrow at The Optima Stadium and hopefully we can give the supporters a positive result!"

Manager Scott Bartlett said he was pleased to bring back Harris to BS24 after Harry Lee was recalled from his loan spell earlier this afternoon (Friday) by Exeter City.

"Max is a terrific goalkeeper and it’s a great signing for us," he said.

"With Harry’s situation uncertain beyond January I have kept in regular touch with Cheltenham and I’d like to thank my old teammates Daz (Clarke) and Russell Milton for allowing us to take Max back in.

“Max enjoyed his time here before and jumped at the chance to come back which is a huge compliment to our supporters, staff and players”.
