Captain Kieran Webster says Cheddar are “very happy” with their 7-0 win over Bishop Sutton in the Toolstation Western League Division One on Tuesday afternoon.

Lewis Chappell scored a hat-trick, Morgan Bacon claimed a double and headers from Toby Hucker and Ryan Eardley helped the Cheesemen reach seventh heaven at Bowdens Park.

It was Cheddar’s first win in 12 games in all competitions.

And Webster said his side are delighted with their triumph.

“We are very happy with the result, we played really well and everybody worked hard to get the win,” he said.

“Hopefully we can take this momentum in to the next game against Hallen. It feels a relief to have got a win and some points on the board!

Webster said he is pleased his team scored seven goals.

It is the first time since September 11 2020, Cheddar have scored seven or more goals when they beat Wincanton Town 7-1.

“I’m buzzing for us to get that amount,” Webster added.

“Boys back on the score sheet! (It) should boost the confidence around the team!”
