Weston-super-Mare AFC's latest loan signing Raphael Araoye has played in all three games since he signed last week.

The 6’3″, 19-year-old defender has looked strong and has already immersed himself within the squad.

Speaking about the signing, manager Scott Bartlett said: "We welcome Raph to our squad, he’s going to be a good addition to our squad.

“He is capable of playing in a number of key positions for us. We have monitored him for a while and he was recommended highly by people we respect at Bristol City."

The defender joined Bristol City at the age of 10 and progressed through their academy system to join the under-18 setup on a scholarship ahead of the 2021-2022 season.

Despite an injury-hit first season as an under-18 at Ashton Gate, he spent the whole of the 2022 pre-season with the first-team which included a couple of appearances under Nigel Pearson.

After spending the 2023 pre-season with Bristol City’s first team on their Austria training camp and featuring in matches, he has been an unused substitute four times for the City first-time while featuring for their under-21s this season.
