Women's NC 2 South West (Central): Winscombe 10-33 Hornets

Hornets RFC Ladies have claimed local bragging rights after defeating rivals Winscombe RFC at the weekend.

The match in the Women's NC Two South West Central division ended 10-33 in favour of the visiting Hornets but both sides put in spirited displays.

It was a top (end) of the table clash too as Winscombe, even after defeat remain on top, however Hornets are closing in just four league points behind in third place.

To add to that, Hornets also have two games in hand on Winscombe and second placed Chew Valley Cats, and they are yet to lose so far. 

Hornets awarded forward of the match to Tash Foley and back of the match to Sophie Beckham.

Winscombe's two tries were scored by Lauren-Lilly Power and Isobel Hemms.

While for Hornets, Emily Liddington, Lucy Mager with two, Chloe Thompson, Lois Bird and Mager also converted four of the tries.

Both sides are back in action on Sunday, February 4 with Hornets away from home against Amesbury Ladies and Winscombe away taking on second placed Chew Valley Cats Ladies.
