Weston-super-Mare AFC's women's teams have been in strong runs of form of late that sees both the first and reserves sitting at the top of their respective leagues.

Most recently it was the Reserves who were in action as they defeated Bath City Women Development 4-3 at the weekend.

That match in the Somerset League Cup sees them into the third round of the competition as they won 5-3.

Ruby Johnson and Emma-Lucy Strawbridge both scored two goals while Jessie Hughes scored one.

The week prior, the Weston super Mare AFC Women First team defeated Gloucester City Women 4-3 at home in the Divisional Cup.

Natasha Crew, Jessica Larbey, Katie Sharkey and Emily Nicholson were the goalscorers in that match.

A spokesperson for the club said: "Both of our Women sides are top of their respective leagues, with a few games remaining per side.

"Get down and support them during the remaining weeks as both of them go for silverware in the league and their own league cups."
