It was a busy weekend across the Weston and District football league, with ten games across the four divisions along with the two big cup games.

The first of the cup games was a semi-final between Nailsea United ‘A’ and Weston Town in the Hospital/Alan Cumner Memorial Cup, with the latter leaving 4-0 victors and advancing into their second final of the season.

In a Charity Cup quarter final Berrow put on their shooting boots as they won 6-0 against Clevedon United ‘A’ to advance into the semis.

For the league games in Division 1 fifth place Churchill Club 70 beat second place Swiss Valley Rangers 2-1, and league leaders Isle of Wedmore FC continued their fight for the title with a 2-0 away win over Locking Park.

In Division 2 it was first versus second this weekend, as second place Axbridge United toppled first place Haywood Village 3-1, narrowing the gap between them to three points.

Sporting Weston Reserves ended up 1-0 winners in their away game to fourth place Hutton Reserves.

In Division 3 AFC Nailsea won 6-0 with fiver different scorers against last place Banwell Reserves, and St George Easton in Gordano beat West Wick Reserves away from home to move up to fourth in the table.

It was a goal fest in Division 4, with 36 goals being scored across the four fixtures.

Weston Celtic beat Banwell ‘A’ 8-0, Highburn Athletic beat Coronation United 10-2, Winscombe Reserves narrowly beat Burnham United ‘A’ 3-2, and the biggest victory of the went to the Weston Crusaders who won 11-0 against Shipham.
