Two ex-Weston AFC players have lifted a trophy at Wembley.

Joel Randall and Archie Collins both spent time playing in the Optima Stadium and last Sunday they helped Peterborough beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 to win the EFL Trophy final.

The two players started in Peterborough’s midfield for the final and were part of a game which had all three of its goals scored in the last five plus added minutes of the match.

Randall started his career off at Exeter City where he played for their academy.

He’s now appeared 54 times for Peterborough after signing in 2021, scoring six goals, but it was in the 2019/20 season that the midfielder made 14 appearances and scored five goals during his loan spell at Weston.

Much like his teammate, Collins is also a product of the Exeter City youth academy, but only spent time out on loan for one year before becoming a consistent starter in the Exeter team, and then eventually moving to Peterborough in 2023 for a six-figure fee.
