Hornets Ladies won their last game of the season on Sunday, and with it became the undefeated league champions for the 2023/24 season.

They confirmed their position atop the Women’s NC 2 South West Central division in style with an emphatic 127-5 win over Bridgwater and Albion Ladies at the Nest and have earned themselves promotion to the NC1 division next season.

The jaw dropping score line was a result of 21 tries and 11 conversions from the Hornets.

Throughout this season Hornets Ladies have shown huge resilience, strength, and depth in their squad.

Despite having many injuries and a few players absent for various reasons, the Ladies have grouped together and been able to maintain their 100% league record throughout the 23/24 season.

The Hornets Ladies not only went unbeaten, but they also outscored their opponents by an average of 52.8 points across their 12 league fixtures, scoring a total of 761 points whilst only conceding 133.

Victories for the squad have included a 92-0 win against Aretians, an 84-0 win over Bath Spartans, and a 52-5 win over Winscombe, along with their most recent 122-point victory.

The Hornets Ladies Squad is comprised of both young and experienced heads, many of which have worked their way up through the Hornets Junior Girls Rugby set up, which has contributed hugely to their undefeated run in the league and bodes well for the future of Female Rugby at Hornets RFC.
