The crib season is over in Weston and Regency are the newly crowned league champs.

Regency took on reigning champions Workingmen’s Club in the total league decider and played well to defeat them 7-1 (12-8).

The result meant that Regency took the title by three points over One for his Nob who also play crib at the Regency pub.

It would’ve been tense viewing for One for his Nob who could do nothing to affect the results on the night as they had already completed their season.

Long time leaders Workingmen’s had to settle for third place, two points behind One for his Nob.

At the bottom of the table Old Kings Head managed a 4-4 (10-10) draw with Criterion and move up one position to third bottom.

Long time wooden spoon chasers Baker St Boys managed an amazing 7-1 (12-8) win over Boro Social Club which left Dickens needing a draw to avoid the spoon.

Unfortunately, they got walloped 1-7 (6-14) by 49ers and drop to the coveted position at the foot of the table.

In the remaining games New Inn Kewstoke who had already secured 4th in the league lost 7-1 (11-9) to Weston Golf Club, and the Services ended up finishing 5th after beating Raddy’s 8-0 (16-4).

Congratulations to Regency, they will now be awarded the league trophy at finals night on May 2nd.
