The Kewstoke bowls team won the Triples league title with ease this season and were recently awarded their trophy.

After putting in some dominant performances they finished 23 points clear of second placed team Hutton.

Kewstoke's winning squad won 14 of their 16 games this year and scored a grand total of 110 points, making them the only team to break the illustrious 100-point mark for the season.

The Kewstoke team, along with club Chairman Bill Hallworth, were presented the league shield at a presentation night earlier this month.

The seven members of the team were pictured alongside their Chairman (left to right/back row then front): Alan Bishop, Bill Hallworth, Mike Davis, Jeff Kinghorn, Cynthia Riley, Pauline Lucas, Jan Sullivan and Marian Greenwell.

Along with the trophy presentation there was also the final of the Woodspring Short Mat Bowls League competition being held the same evening, with the match up being between Ashcombe and Mark Village.

The first half was a whitewash for Ashcombe as they won 15-0, but the second half saw Mark Village fight back with them winning the period 7-4, but it wasn’t enough as Ashcombe held on for the 19-7 win.

The Ashcombe team were made up of Andy Evans, Ian Mitchell and Steve Browning, and captained by Allan Corbett.
