Mark Plummer and Darren Steadman took the title at the first-ever Old Sports Auctions Betterball Championship.
The duo scored 40 points at the Worlebury Golf Club event, narrowly winning after a back-nine countback.
They shared the score with Andrew March and Mark Norman, but a dropped stroke from the latter pair at the final hole secured the win for Plummer and Steadman.
The tournament was devised with Neil Mossman, owner of Old Sports Auctions, and attracted 17 pairs.
However, the forecast of a dry day was incorrect, with persistent drizzle affecting play.
The course was in "superb condition," and the organisers expressed gratitude to Roy Baker and the team at the club for hosting the event.
They hope to expand the competition in the coming years.
Plummer and Steadman, who have been friends since their younger days at Saltford, scored 22 points on the way out and 18 on the return.
The scores matched March and Norman, but the dropped stroke at the final hole gave Plummer and Steadman the top prize.
Four other pairings scored 39 points, leading to another countback.
Brickhampton Court professional Ross Langdon and amateur partner Stewart White took third place.
Saltford duo Chris Coles and Pete Reuter came fourth, ahead of Lilley Brook's Nick Ellis and Gareth Francis.
The sixth and final team prize went to Scott Bellinger and Rob Hardwick from Cannington.
An individual professional event ran alongside the betterball.
Langdon led with a level par score of 36.
Bellinger tied for second with Charlie Camper from Tickenham Golf Centre, one point behind.
Plummer took fourth with 34 points.
Wheathill's Mark Singleton finished fifth with 33 points, while Lilley Brook's Ellis and Ed Goodwin rounded out the prize money in sixth.
