Despite the extreme heat, St Andrews men finished strongly to register three victories out of three in league and cup matches.
In the North Somerset Cup, they were 16 shots down at the halfway stage against visitors Ashcombe and still trailing with three ends to go.
But big finishes on all five rinks saw them to victory by ten shots.
Their next opponents are another local club, Victoria.
The final three ends proved also crucial in St Andrews A’s tough Somerset County League match away to Ilminster B.
The home team were seven up after 15 ends, then Alan Biss’s rink scored seven shots without reply, while Lee Stocker ended with a three and Rob Saddler’s team also came back well to give Saints victory by five shots.
St Andrews B finished six clear of local rivals Ashcombe B in their county league match, helped by Paul Smart, Zak Turnbull, David Stott and Del James scoring six in the final four ends to win by nine.
Newcomer Pete Passmore made a winning league debut on Brendan Duffy’s rink.
St Andrews women lost for only the second time this season in the county league, away to Isle of Wedmore.
Sue Churchill, Clare Andrews and Jackie Pitman won by five, while Debbie Johns’ rink were pipped by one as Wedmore finished eight up.
Colin Laity and Sam and Lee Stocker reached the area quarter-final of the national men’s triples, beating a team from the Bristol club 24-8.
