Weston Aerobic Gymnastics Club brought their stunning group routines to Broadoak School for its annual gala.

The audience were treated to over 200 gymnasts performing, who practiced the routines throughout the summer with choreographers. With four British squad members and numerous national and international champions, it was a night to remember.

The displays showcased how the club brings out the gymnasts’ talent from age four to 19, and how well all gymnasts are integrated together.

After treating the packed audience to a stunning display of gymnastics, dance and festival routines, the trophies were given out to the following gymnasts - gymnast of the year: Amelia Barratt; reserve gymnast of the year: Keira Landen; most improved: Cally Bullock; reserve most improved: Jaime Ward.

The Issy Sprague award for a fantastic attitude to gymnastics was Amy Bond and team spirit went to a parent who has kept the club looking brilliant, both at the championships and festivals all year and at this gala, was Aunty Pam Day.

The club’s international gymnasts went on to do a repeat performance at the south west gymnastics conference a day later, to tremendous applause from gymnastic coaches from all over the country. The club now prepare to take some their superb routines to the Playhouse in the Help for Heroes show in November.

The club have proved that with great coaching, hard working gymnasts and supportive parents, it is possible to maintain the tremendous competition record and perform gala routines at festivals and displays throughout the country, and still provide top quality sessions for all ages and levels.

Katie Irwin, British Gymnastics area manager for the South West said: “I can easily say it was one of the best events I have attended, the warm friendly atmosphere was electric.

“All aerobic gymnasts were given a chance to shine in the spotlight and this event encompasses the gymnastics for all ethos that runs throughout our sport.”
