Aggressive Winscombe coast to victory
Winscombe defeated Bridgwater A by three wickets and with more than 20 overs to spare.
WINSCOMBE travelled to play Bridgwater A and were pleased to bowl first on an unusual looking pitch.
The Winscombe bowlers took full advantage of some erratic pace and bounce to put Bridgwater under pressure and take early wickets. Chris Clough (2-48) and Ben Goodrum (1-21) bowled well, but the main destroyer was Jordan Peters, who took 5-36 for his first five-wicket haul. Rob Bradley (2-0) finished off the tail to dismiss Bridgwater for 129.
Winscombe were aggressive from the off, aware that wickets were likely to fall given the pitch condition. Goodrum set the tone will a boundary-filled 36 and Lund (24), Milnes-Win (18) and Mike Coe (14) were also positive.
Winscombe always seemed in control, despite losing wickets and they were seen home by Guy Coe (26 not out) to win by three wickets with more than 20 overs to spare.
