Alton Wealth Management enjoyed an emphatic 6-0 victory in Division 2 of the North Somerset Badminton League men’s division.

Alton Wealth Management took a 6-0 victory against Abatec Recruitment in Division 2 of the North Somerset Badminton League men’s division.

Both teams are part of Weston Open Badminton Club and are in their inaugural season of competition.

This was the second game in four days for Abatec Recruitment who had a great result against Wells City. In a good natured evening’s badminton, Slawomir and Antony Hart starred picking up their first win of the season.

The final game of the week was another internal club affair with Lauragos edging a hard-fought victory over Zaks Indian Kitchen.

This was a hotly-contested match with one of the games of the night the number one mixed match between Tony Wilsher Day and Cheryl Hughes against Kate Healy and Ian Matchett, which ended up with a win for Team Zaks 21-16 in the third.

The club is currently receiving national recognition for its work to increase participation in the sport. Practice nights are on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at venues across Weston.

Unlike all other clubs there is no membership fee, it is purely pay and play with no obligation or commitment. There is no minimum standard policy and the club welcomes all ages, abilities and weights.
