Angler Andy Curry finished top of the pile at a match at Shiplate Farm, near Bleadon.

ONE of Bristol’s top match groups Frys, held a match on the Hawthorns at Shiplate Farm, in glorious sunshine for most of the match, but ended it in a downpour.

After weighing in their nets, it was Andy Curry who took first place on peg one with 126lb 10oz. Andy fished 6m shallow using meat for bait and feeding meat to bag up well ahead of his competitors.

Results: Andy Curry (p1), 126lb 10oz; Pete Sivell (p6), 48lb; Ray Cooper (p10), 45lb 12oz. Silvers went to Gordon Jones (p7), 8lb 12oz.

A friendly open match on the far bank of the Main Lake saw Simon Ryall take first place from p15, with 54lb 4oz. Closing in on him were Julian Pinkett (p14), 49lb 14oz and Tich Williams (p13), 41lb. Silvers went to Ron Stark (p10), 10lb 10oz.
