With the weather set fair and some great reports of fish throughout the channel, 60 anglers managed to get to the shoreline. Thirty-nine caught fish in size and the winner was Clevedon angler and Weston Outcast Andy Madsen who, with a total weight of 8lb 14.5oz, took the �200 first prize.
This weight was made up of four codling and three whiting. Just behind him was Rob Marshall with 8lb 4.5oz with the same number of fish netting him �100, closely followed by Paul Cox with 8lb 2oz, weighing in a conger eel and two codling.
There is a diary date for all who wish to get out after Christmas, Weston Outcasts are holding a cod open on January 9. Big cash prizes are up for grabs, fishing from Clevedon Pier to Portishead Pier, more details to follow.
