The Winscombe 50th anniversary trophy in memory of Brian Bancroft took place at Winscombe Cricket Club between the Winscombe club, Wrington Vale, Weston District and Weston Central teams.
THE Winscombe 50th anniversary trophy in memory of Brian Bancroft took place at Winscombe Cricket Club between the Winscombe club, Wrington Vale, Weston District and Weston Central teams.
All teams were full of the summer spirit after a long season and had an enjoyable evening. The match was won by the Weston Central team after some fine skittling by the team and captain John Bastin, who top scored with 66.
Second place was taken by the Wrington Vale, closely followed in third place by the Winscombe club. The Weston District side, struggled to field a team, until some players were loaned by the other leagues.
Scores: Weston Central 481; Wrington Vale 442; Winscombe Club 434; Weston District 428.
