Weston Sea Angling Association will be holding its popular annual Christmas open match on December 15.
WESTON Sea Angling Association will be holding its popular annual Christmas open match at Weston on December 15.
Fishing will be from 3-6.30 pm and tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and OAPs will be on sale from the clubhouse at the southern end of the seafront from 1pm.
Afterwards, the usual array of prizes including a giant Christmas hamper and other Christmas fayre will be presented to the winners at the Royal Hotel. Further details and advice can be obtained from Mike Tanner on 01278 788637.
The retired section recently fished against the Birnbeck Club’s retired section for the Don Metcalf Trophy. The match fished on Clevedon Pier is fiercely competed by both teams, but in a friendly manner.

The Weston club managed to win this year with 39 points against Birnbeck’s 27. Weston team captain John May set the perfect example by achieving 25 points on his own.
