THE 74th annual Brean Easter Hockey Festival takes place from Friday until Sunday on four grass pitches at Drove Road Rec and an Asto pitch at Wyvern School.

THE 74th annual Brean Easter Hockey Festival takes place from Friday until Sunday on four grass pitches at Drove Road Rec and an Asto pitch at Wyvern School.This year, there are nine men's teams, North Somerset and Torpids local, two from Worcestershire Crusaders and Knots, Telford from Shropshire, Barvarians from Bristol, The Problems from Leamington Spa, Monkey Magic from Crewe and The Two Hats from Luton.The six ladies' teams are locals North Somerset, Gin'll Fix It from Winscombe, The Bees of Bedford, Waftys from Leek, Staffordshire, The Problems from Leamington Spa and a side from Luton.In the veterans' section, two local sides, Torpids and Hasbreans, Elizabethans from Kidderminster, Crusaders and Knots from Worcestershire, and a new side, Mossups Mixed Veg from Leicestershire.Away from the games, there will be a festival reception followed by a disco at the Seven nightclub on Beach Road on Good Friday. On Saturday, there is a festival disco with optional fancy dress at the Grand Atlantic Hotel and on Easter Sunday at the Royal Grosvenor Hotel there will be a festival celebration night with karaoke and disco.
