Weston Tennis Club held its well-attended annual junior tournament.

WESTON Tennis Club held its annual junior tournament which was well attended by junior members and their families.

The Under-10s event was keenly contested in a round robin format by six players. The winner was Maddox Gould, who proved to be strong throughout beating a spirited Shayan Mafi 10-4 in the final. A special mention for Josh Weall, who played some excellent tennis and finished third.

The Under-14s event followed and some high calibre tennis was displayed by the competitors. The winner was Andrew Sinclair, who came out on top against Jonathan Evans 6-3 in a closely-fought final.

The girl’s final was won by Natalia Bak, who narrowly defeated the consistent Paulina Gorczyca 2-6, 7-5,7-6.

The tournament was supervised by club coach, Jamie Allen, who holds a variety of junior sessions for youngsters from age five to 17.

Weston Tennis Club, based in Neva Road, caters for all ages and abilities. Play is possible all year round as it has five floodlit courts.
