WESTON Amateur Boxing Club is holding its annual tournament again at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre on Saturday, with 10 of its own representatives displaying their skills.

WESTON Amateur Boxing Club is holding its annual tournament again at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre on Saturday, with 10 of its own representatives displaying their skills.

Doors open at 7pm and local support is needed to give the boys a boost and help in maintaining the future of the club. On the bill will be middleweight Jake Giddings (18), unbeaten at senior level, light heavyweight Mitchell McSweeney (22), last year's best boxer of the evening, and crowd pleasing lightweight Jack White (19), who fought again recently in Devizes only to find himself on the wrong end of a points decision. He is now promising to make the fate of this next contest decided by a knockout.

Also on the bill will be 12-year-old Sam Higgins,13-year-old Wyvern schoolboy Bradley Warwick, 15-year-old Tom Harris and 16-year-old Jay Barford, all looking to take home the Royal Hotel best junior boxer cup.

Senior light-heavyweights Frazer Luxon (18) and Marc Baker (21) will be making their debuts, and Nick Stathers (30) will be contesting at middleweight.

The opponents are mostly from around the West Country, Plymouth, Wells, Chard and Bristol, and there will be approximately 14 contests on the evening.

It promises to be a great night's entertainment and great value for only �10 for adults and �6 for under 14s. Families and OAPs are most welcome and concessions are made for both. Ringside tables are also available, seating eight for �120, includes food.
