Alan Spear started off well against Iggy Green and soon cleared his handicap deficit. His form throughout was good and it needed to be as Iggy made some good shots towards the end. Pete Woods and Lee Carpenter had a close game which was tight right to the end, Pete eventually continuing his good run and winning by 12. Iggy was asked to play again against Martyn Howell who found good form early on and ran out an easy winner.

Lindrums skipper Adrian Smith played poorly by his standards in the opening game against Short Frames but that does not detract from the steady scoring of Ray Tozer who also potted well and did not leave too much for Adrian to have a go at in recording his first league victory by 43. Matt Northern was awesome against Mike Tozer, steadily outscoring his opponent in a 40-point win. Mike was asked to play again against Geoff Passmore who also played steadily and overpowered Mike to win by 44.

Wayne Ticer's greater experience told for George Rowe in the Zimmers versus Backwell B match, steadily scoring to win by 26. Russell Ticer was in top form in the next against Dennis Mansfield although Dennis was not in bad form, Russell's break of 27 was the difference in a 29-point win to put Zimmers two up.

Bob Selby was slow off the mark against Bruce Bernard who cleared his handicap deficit and went in front at the 70-point mark. This was the cue for Bob to introduce the flukier side of his game and he went back in front and finished with a fluked in-off to win by 14.

In the Handicap competition match between Wayne Ticer and Roy Jenkins, Roy was in blistering form with a number of 20 and 30 breaks, and a 50, in an awesome display to win 300-198. Irving Prowse was also busy in the competitions, defeating George Rowe 125-113, pulling off a shock win against Mike Allen in the handicap 300-259 and giving a good account of himself against Roy in the Open, only going down by 23.

Breaks: Roy Jenkins 50, 30, 30, 20, 20; Mike Allen 33, 30, 25, 20; Matt Northern 31, 23; Irving Prowse 31; Russell Ticer 27; Bob Selby 20; Alan Spear 20.
