Belvedere ended their season with a seven-wicket defeat to Trull, who moved top of the division.

Belvedere 1st XI completed their league season with a seven-wicket defeat to Trull, who moved top of the division.

A two-hour delayed start due to rain saw the match reduced to 30 overs per side. Belvedere elected to bat and made a disastrous start slumping to 17-4 off the first 10 overs, losing Pete Hooper, Sam Neate, Sam Mccrea and Kevin Crockett.

Neil Chadwick (29) and Callum Neate (18 not out) added 37 for the fifth wicket, but the innings could gain no momentum and stalled to 84-8 off the 30 overs.

In response, Trull’s openers eased to 43 before Blundell was bowled by Nil Chatterjee. As Trull eased to victory there were further wickets for Andy Platts and Hooper and a good spell from Rob Huish, until victory for the visitors was secured in the 23rd over.
