WITH BFC having already claimed the league title, they were hoping to secure the double against last season’s double winners Medivale.

Medivale took the game to BFC with Troy Hayes chasing everything down, supported by his brother Andy. Mark Hearne and Callum McManus were prominent in midfield as the first-half ended goal-less.

After the break, Medivale struck first when a superb 30 yard pass from Brayer found Troy Hayes who fired home from close range. With Medivale defending bravely, it took a moment of madness for BFC to get back into the game.

An innocent pass back to keeper Carl James went under his foot and rolled agonisingly into the net. Both teams had more chances, but hesitation in the Medivale defence saw a BFC forward pounce seven minutes from the end to give BFC the trophy.

With Medivale withdrawing from the league next season, manager Steve Grant would like to thank all the players that have represented the team over the years and wishes them all good luck for the future.
