Chloe Carchrie, from the Oldmixon and Uphill Karate Kai, has just passed her black belt grading.

OLDMIXON and Uphill Karate Kai member Chloe Carchrie has successfully passed her black belt grading.

She travelled to Bristol for the grading which was conducted by a panel of seven senior Dan grades from the Western Karate Union.

Ten-year-old Chloe has been training for five years and a little family rivalry was evident as she persevered to gain her black belt ahead of her dad, Allan, who also trains with the club and is a 1st Kyu.

The club trains at Oldmixon School on Wednesdays, Uphill Village Hall on Fridays and also Locking Village Hall on Fridays.

Further details can be gained from Wendy or Gary on 823600 or e-mail oldmixonkarate@btinternet.com Websites: oukk.org.uk and wku.org.uk
