CLARENCE Bowling Club member Bob Rossiter, with club coach David Stott as his sighted helper, represented Visually Impaired Bowls England at the World Blind Bowls Championships in Worthing.
Rossiter was in the mixed pairs and played some wonderful bowls against the world’s best, keeping England in the hunt for medal honours. The team gold was won by South Africa, with Australia runners-up. Israel pipped England for the team bronze only on shot-difference.
Individual England medallists were Steve Simmons (bronze - B3 men), Sarah Marshall (silver - B1 ladies) and Yeovil player Terry Matthews (gold - B4 men).
