Mike Mullin secured his first win since joining Brean Golf Club in the Super Series Stableford.

Teeing off in the first group of the day, he made good use of benign conditions to post a superb 46 points and finish three clear of runner-up Andy Chapple.

Chapple thought he had signed for 42 points, but a miscalculation gave him a crucial extra point to move him up to second ahead of Ian Adams, who took third ahead of Nigel Ellis on countback.

Sunday's Super Series competition produced a remarkable winning round from Stewart Garrett, who carded 12 nett birdies to win the bogey event with ease.

Garrett could even afford to mark a couple of bogeys on his scorecard as he finished +10, five clear of Jason Kidley, who beat Ian Adams on countback.

Nine teams took part in a Seniors Fun Day Scramble, which included a twist to the rules and set-up on the back nine.

All putters were banned for three holes, with some difficult tee positions set by director of golf Andrew March, who was out on the course to provide each team with a mulligan from holes 14 to 16.

Scoring was impressive, with Brian Reeves, Tony Higgins, Roger Phillips and Carole Short carding a nett score of 50 to take the top prizes.

John Cranley, Jeff Milton, Bob Toller and Shirley Marlow were second on countback, as Trevor Pitt, Chris Stephens, Bill Marlow and Bev Cranley finished third ahead of a trio of Chris Fairchild, Tim Amy and Vincent Ford.

A seniors match with Cannington finished all square at 3-3 as captain-elect John Cranley took charge with Mike Short still suffering with injury.

And the club's two Avalon League teams met in their fifth and final match, with Pete Barton's B team beating Dan Broom's A team 6-4 in singles matchplay to claim a 3-1 victory in the series, with one game tied.
