As Lockdown Two came to an end on Wednesday golfers are looking forward to getting back onto the fairways at Brean again.
After a month away the majority of club members will be able to play once again but with the announcement of the tier system it has led to some restrictions for those based in the tier three area of North Somerset.
PGA Professional and Director of Golf Andrew March said: "We are really looking forward to getting back to playing golf safely once again after our enforced absence from the course.
"Golf demonstrated the ability to be played in a COVID safe manner since May and we hope the golfers continue to adhere by these same regulations again upon their return.
"It is unfortunate that we are located so close to a boundary of the tiers but we hope our members and visitors take the responsible approach and refrain from travelling into our tier two areas, per the government advice to play at this time."
With the Government looking to review the system every couple of weeks it is hoped that the situation in North Somerset will improve sufficiently to allow the whole membership to get back to playing as before.
In the meantime the club committee have taken the decision to suspend all club competitions for the remainder of 2020 until more members are able to compete.
Some informal Pro Shop competitions will be run through December, though, to satisfy the competitive juices of Sedgemoor-based members.
The Country Club will remain open daily from Wednesday operating safely within the regulations permitted for tier two facilities.
