A team from Brent Knoll Riding Club enjoyed success at the Badminton Dressage Championships.

BRENT Knoll Riding Club enjoyed a great day when they sent two teams to the Badminton Dressage Championships, for the riding clubs inter-club team competition.

The two teams were The Dolly Mixtures, comprising of Celia Lewis on her own Charltons Rosewood, Ros Burridge on her own Zest and Tara Bennett on her own Mendip Manor.

The Dolly Mixtures finished seventh in their section with Celia having the highest score in the team, going on to ride in the individual championship, finishing 16th.

The Jelly Babies were made up of Sue Francis on her own The Running Total, Steph Sweet on Sarah Banwells, Weeks Orchard Recos Light and Tara Millard on her own Bypro R.

The Jelly Babies won with a score of 510, the only team to score over 500. Steph had the highest score in the team (also the highest of the section) and went through to contest the individual championship which she won. Steph, from Wedmore, is sponsored by local company Pro Motion Equine.

Thanks go to team trainer Julie Hayes, who got the girls motivated and was there on the day for last minute advice.

Also, thanks go to Wadswick Country Store for their generous sponsorship of the Badminton Dressage Championships and the organisers at Badminton, which ran smoothly with scores being quickly put out and prompt prize givings.
