Weston Croquet Club have been busy at their base in Bleadon.
WESTON Croquet Club has seen a lot of activity at their Bleadon courts in the last 10 days.
Firstly, they beat Bath 4-3 in an Association League match.This was followed by the Daphne Holland Trophy, a memorial trophy to the wife of the founder member of the club.
This was an all-day event with more than 40 club members competing and culminating in a three-game final which saw Lance Binning lift the trophy, winning 2-0.
Weston entertained Stony Stratford from the East Anglian division of the Croquet Association. This is an annual fixture between the two clubs with an individual competition linked to a team match, in which Weston enjoyed a narrow victory.
