UPHILL Castle enjoyed a comfortable 121-run victory over near neighbours Winscombe.

Batting first in a match reduced to 44 overs, Uphill reached 33 before Andre Belcher was dismissed for 18. Dave Millard and Ty Watson produced a second-wicket stand of 102, before Millard was out for 61.

Krish Kumar joined Watson and the pair produced another century stand, taking the score to 240, when Kumar was out for a typical hard-hitting 53. Watson finished on 93 not out, as he and captain Luke Bliss (8 not out) took the score to 255-3.

Wicket-takers for Winscombe were Chris Clough (6-0-39-1), Matt Lunn (5-0-31-1) and Jordan Peters (8-0-66-1).

In reply, Winscombe got off to a poor start and were reduced to 14-3, with Bliss taking one wicket and George Cox two.

Uphill kept up the pressure and took further wickets throughout the innings. Only Jory Cureton (36), Lunn (14) and Ben Goodrum (19) reached double figures, as Winscombe were restricted to 134-8.

Cox finished with 9-1-33-3 and he was backed up by Bliss (5-1-17-1), De Gelas (9-2-19-1), Kumar (9-1-22-2) and Watson (4.1-0-14-1).

THE seconds welcomed North Perrett and got back to winning ways with a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

Uphill won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first and all the Uphill bowlers performed well. Pete Jobling (1-18), Andy Leech (1-14) and Sam Mathews 1-16 reduced Perrett to 60-3 at the halfway stage.

The introduction of spinners Kieran Ward (3-15) and Matt Kearsey (4-8) bowled the visitors out for 78.

The Uphill innings got off to a fast start, with Andy Llewellyn (24) and Mark Hodder (16) putting on 38 for the first wicket and then Kearsey (32 not out) and Dave Bickell (4 not out), saw uphill over the line and 35 welcome points.
