CLAVERHAM Cricket Club are holding their annual chairman's match when current chairman Roger Hooper brings together some Claverham legends from the past, current 1st XI and a special guest player to take on their regular Sunday side.

This year will be slightly different in that they are dedicating the match to the memory of his mother Wendy Hooper who died of cancer in March this year. She was a great friend to the club and also active with Cancer Research UK in the village.

Rogear and his brother Michael and his father Martyn would like to invite any of her friends and indeed anyone who knew her from the village to come up on Sunday (1.30 start) to watch the match. A barbeque and raffle will help raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Michael Hooper will also be playing, also playing a small part in the match will be Roger's son, Wendy's grandson, Dominic who this season represented Gloucestershire at Under-11 County level. Unfortunately Wendy was never able to see him represent the county.
