SHIPHAM pulled off a terrific Challenge Cup final upset by beating league champions Worle Rangers 3-1 at Cheddar.
Shipham started as the brighter team, defending well in numbers, getting men behind the ball and hitting Worle on the break. Keeper Sam Hughes kicked a long ball upfield, which the Worle defence could not clear and Matty Hollow scored his 30th goal of the season.

Shipham were much the better team and were causing Worle all kinds of problems with their attacking midfield three of Hobden, Green and Nicholas. Worle got a goal back with a break just before half-time to make it 1-1 at the break.
Shipham scored at the start of the second half when Sam Nicholas ran at the Worle defence and hit a cracking shot from the edge of the area which found the corner of the net to make it 2-1 to Shipham.

Shortly after Shipham extended their lead when Hollow went up for a challenge with a Worle defender and keeper, the ball was cleared to the edge of the area where Jamie White smashed it first time into the net.
Worle then tried to get back into the game, but the defence of Aston, Ben Hollow, Layton and MacLucas were in no mood to concede again. Mitch Corrick in central midfield put in his best performance of the season, winning numerous challenges and breaking up a number of Worle attacks.
Worle nearly got a goal back, but a fine Hughes double save saved Shipham. The Shipham management team of Joe Rowsell and George Stone brought on Page, Wright and Jon Rowsell to see out the game 3-1.
Angus Lewis, an almost ever present this season, was unfortunate to miss out on an appearance due to injury.
The man of the match award was deservedly shared by the team for a fantastic performance from start to finish.
WRINGTON Redhill Reserves won Vardon Cup final against Cheddar A 3-1 at Worle.
