Charlotte crowned national grade champion

GYMNASTICS - NINE Gym Academy gymnasts, who are based in Portishead, were selected to represent the South West region in the annual National Grade Finals at Cooks Moor Leisure Centre in Birmingham.

NINE Gym Academy gymnasts, who are based in Portishead, were selected to represent the South West region in the annual National Grade Finals at Cooks Moor Leisure Centre in Birmingham.

Billie-Jayne Corbett competed Club Grade 8 and finished 15th in the all around, with clean competition. Maisie Dodds finished eighth in Grade 7 and won a team silver medal with Hollie Moore, and Charlotte Bennett was crowned National Grade 6 Champion.

The Academy youngest were representing the region on May 2 and 3 in Compulsory Grade 4: Phoebe Turner, Eloise Aitken and Madeline Hartnoll all competed with confidence in their first national finals and were ranked in the top five at least once on different pieces.

In Compulsory 3, April Maslen placed ninth in the all around, Imogen Chan placed eighth in the all around and Libby Lockett took home the silver all around medal. The three girls won the team gold medal for the South West region.
