Chilly conditions greet the anglers

Chilly conditions greeted anglers for the latest Shiplate Farm Winter Series match.

A very windy and chilly day gave the anglers in the Shiplate Farm Winter Series good reason to wrap up warm.

The biting winds turned hands numb, but spirits were good in the third round of the series which was fished on the Hawthorns.

John Hawkins fished the bread on the pole at three-quarters depth in the margins to take the top weight on peg 15, with 64lb 10oz.

Section winners were Julian Pinkett (peg 1), 63lb 14oz and Steve Howell (peg 10), 50lb 4oz. Silvers went to Gordon Jones (peg 4), 12lb 4oz.
